NY Times has an article about the recent move of coffee hipsters towards japanese hand-pour products.
What really drew my attention was the last sentence: "Already, a few of the same people who once traveled to Tokyo and Kyoto are now talking and posting on Twitter about a country that draws on a variety of traditions, an emerging coffee culture that might also have something to teach us: Korea."
Perhaps you're like me, a single guy living alone in Korea on a tight budget. The supermarket is stocked stocked full of things you can't pronounce, let alone identify, and the microwave burritos that powered you through college are only available across town at $5 each. You're hungry, and you've just discovered that it is really unpleasant to eat 삼겹살 (samgyeobsal) for breakfast.
Go native. When in Rome, eat Romans.
