Killing Machines are awesome, but Teenage Hookers aren't

While I was floating around the internets I found mention of "Teenage Hooker Became Killing Machine", or "대학로에서 매춘하다가 토막살해당한 여고생 아직 대학로에 있다", by Nam Ki-Woong. It's primary claim to fame seems to be the fact it has the longest title of any Korean movie.

[The Korean title literally translates to, as near as I can tell, "The high school girl who was dismembered while prostituting in Daehangno is still in Daehangno".]

Of course I had to watch it. Fortunately there's a bootleg floating around. It was shown at a film festival in New York, so there were subtitles. I was expecting a sex-and-violence exploitation movie, but it's more of an indy student film. With all of that entails, like a weird timing, bizarre mise-en-scene, aimless story, and cool soundtrack. It's pretty bad; I had to laugh out loud in a few points, like the dance sequence that continued for a full two and a half minutes (I went back and measured) with absolutely no point, except apparently to show off the fact the song was actually pretty cool.

It was filmed close to ten years ago, so it was pretty interesting to see the old Daehangno. I couldn't recognize most of the scenery; the area has changed a lot.
