I've been terribly busy lately. There is some stuff I want to blog about but I haven't had so much time.
I took the GRE here in Seoul yesterday. I intend to make a short post about that experience in the next few days, but long story short it was pretty much like taking the SAT's in the US.
I'm going back to the US in a week. It's only a short stay for a funeral, but it will be good to see my family.
Bought a new(used) car. 2004 Volvo S60. Pictures to come later.
There's a fairly cool hookah bar in Hongdae, I've been told Pacchigi 2 is awesome, and Americans shouldn't be allowed to humiliate themselves on Winning Eleven.
Details to follow are recovery.
Coolest Suzumiya Haruhi figure!
One of these days I'll post pictures of my collection.
About immigrant life. Of particular interest to anyone interested in immigration to Asia.
Washington Post article about South American immigration into a Japanese city. A lot of Japanese emigrated and now their descendants are returning.
Korean article translated by Korea Beat about the children of international marriages.
I'm a little confused about this new peace accord with North Korea.
The North Korea agreement, announced in Beijing on Wednesday, sets out the first specific timetable for the North to disclose all its nuclear programs and disable all facilities in return for 950,000 metric tons of fuel oil or its equivalent in economic aid.
Isn't this pretty much the same as the old Carter agreement? The one that Congress smothered? The one that made Bush and Co. rant away about appeasement?
In my lap lands a chance to apply to a well-paying job WRITING (you know, that thing I studied for umpteen years at the university?) so I need to dash out a cover letter.
But I haven't been writing years. I've never written professionally and I haven't been writing seriously since college. And all of my communication experience lately has been in broken english (with students) or broken Korean (with classmates).
Match: obsession for composition, lack of practice, imminent deadline, high-pressure for good results.
